GreenLight

As an internationally recognized hallmark of American diecast collectibles, Greenlight Collectibles represents more than miniature mechanical artistry—it embodies a living narrative of global automotive culture. Founded in the crucible of American motorsport at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway, Greenlight captured worldwide acclaim through authentic proportions and curated thematic collections. Today, powered by Waltersons' end-to-end industrial precision manufacturing, Greenlight is executing an exhaustive engineering overhaul to bring collectors an unprecedented standard of tactile and visual fidelity.

In 2002, Kevin Davy founded Greenlight in Indianapolis, Indiana—the heartland of American motorsport. Leveraging his tenure in licensing at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway, Kevin established the enterprise after being commissioned to engineer official commemorative replicas for the Indy 500. This sparked an esteemed strategic alliance with the world's most famous race that spanned over 12 consecutive years.

Pioneering the All-Metal Industry Standard: While legacy 1:64 manufacturers commonly combined diecast bodies with hollow plastic bases to cut costs, Greenlight instituted a game-changing benchmark: a diecast metal body paired with a diecast metal chassis, complemented by authentic real rubber tires. This delivered an unmistakable heft, uncompromising stance, and genuine realism that captured enthusiasts worldwide.

Fueled by a profound appreciation for domestic automotive history, Greenlight led the market in bringing legendary performance cars to collector shelves—including the 1969 Ford Mustang Boss 302, 1970 Pontiac Firebird, 1970 Plymouth Barracuda, and 1969 Dodge Daytona.

Greenlight swiftly branched into vintage pickup trucks (1961 Dodge D100, 1968 Chevrolet C10) and introduced a highly competitive 1:18 scale 1965 Ford Mustang coupe featuring fully opening parts under $50. Crucially, Greenlight revolutionized the market by pioneering curated thematic lines—such as Hot Pursuit (law enforcement fleets), Hollywood (cinematic vehicles), and GL Muscle—streamlining the collecting experience

Following the market turbulence of the 2009 economic recession, Greenlight's core operating leadership executed a management buyout (MBO) in 2013, inaugurating the company's dynamic second era and setting its sights on international expansion.
The team moved decisively beyond traditional American automakers to embrace global legends. Greenlight secured licensed programs with Volkswagen to create the air-cooled 'The Club V-dub' series, and championed iconic JDM machinery (Nissan Skyline GT-R, Datsun 240Z) under the internationally acclaimed 'Tokyo Torque' collection.
Product categories expanded into modern SUVs, station wagons, authentic lowriders, and heavy-duty utility trailers. High-profile entertainment licenses made Greenlight a household name, highlighted by the A-Team GMC Vandura, 'Eleanor' 1967 Mustang from Gone in 60 Seconds, and The Godfather Cadillac Fleetwood. Concurrently, official contracts with the United States Postal Service (USPS) and Bigfoot 4x4 monster trucks broadened mainstream appeal across 1:18, 1:43, and 1:64 scales.
By late 2022, Greenlight managed hundreds of annual releases across five primary scales (1:12, 1:18, 1:24, 1:43, and 1:64), firmly establishing the brand across more than 40 international markets as the preeminent symbol of American diecast culture.

In the post-pandemic era, Hong Kong manufacturing enterprise Waltersons fully acquired Greenlight, assuming total leadership of the brand and initiating an ambitious transformation for its next generation.
The contemporary 1:64 premium segment has experienced rapid technological advancement. Discerning collectors now expect exact historical body accuracy, ultra-fine shut lines, intricate multi-piece assemblies, and flawless paint finishes. The market demanded that classic legacy tooling undergo a comprehensive industrial evolution.
Waltersons integrates its deep engineering infrastructure into Greenlight: true-to-scale 3D optical scanning, native CAD engineering, in-house CNC mold development, plastic injection and zinc-alloy casting, dust-free paint lines, multi-color pad printing, assembly and final quality controls.
Phase III marks substantial capital investments into re-tooling Greenlight's most sought-after vintage molds from scratch. By harmonizing raw American automotive passion with uncompromising closed-loop manufacturing precision, Greenlight and Waltersons are setting a transformative standard for diecast enthusiasts worldwide.
