GreenLight is thrilled to introduce the inaugural "Collectible" grade meticulously designed 1/64 scale radio-controlled car available in the market. Our latest line of radio-controlled products is launched under our new division – GL Motion, which stands for diecast collectibles in motion. While you may have encountered numerous radio-controlled cars in the market, most of them were engineered primarily for functionality, often neglecting aesthetic considerations. In contrast, GreenLight, a leading name in the diecast collectibles industry, is committed to developing a new 1/64 scale diecast collectibles DNA that achieves an ideal equilibrium between aesthetics and performance.
In order to maintain our integrity of being "Strictly 1/64 scale," our engineers have had to create the entire program from the ground up. Rather than utilizing existing electrical and mechanical components, we were compelled to custom-develop each component to fit the specified limited dimensions. This challenge proved to be quite difficult, and it took our R&D team nearly 24 months before we could present the first prototype.
Moreover, what concerns our collectors the most is whether this new product line will be an ongoing collectible series or if it will consist of only a few vehicles as a supplementary offering alongside the regular GL product line. The answer is that the GL motion line will feature monthly releases, and our ambitious product plan will encompass all of the collectors' favorite vehicle types, including sedans, coupes, wagons, SUVs, pickups, and even armored fighting vehicles, among others.
During our development journey, our Research and Development team was initially tempted to pursue a more cost-effective strategy for the GL Motion product line. The proposal involved utilizing a common chassis for all sedan models, another for coupes, and yet another for SUVs. While this strategy promised significant savings in both development and future manufacturing costs, it was promptly dismissed by our CEO, Vincent, and our Chairman, Walter. Vincent, an entrepreneur and lifelong hobby enthusiast, alongside Walter, a chartered engineer with substantial manufacturing and engineering expertise, emphasized the importance of distinct driving experiences. “If every vehicle type shares the same chassis, they will all drive the same, and that violates the principle of GL Motion, which is set to offer a unique driving experience to collectors,” stated Vincent.
Each GL Motion vehicle is thus developed with true-to-scale chassis dimensions, both in length and width. We meticulously craft each chassis from diecast material to preserve GreenLight’s diecast vehicle legacy. Furthermore, the wheel sizes—both in diameter and width—are tailored to correspond with the scaled-down specifications of their real-life counterparts. Each vehicle model is specifically calibrated with a gear ratio that reflects its real-world performance variant; for instance, a sport coupe boasts a faster gear ratio designed for swift acceleration, while a pickup truck has a slower gear ratio optimized for producing significantly higher torque, capable of towing trailers weighing up to 2 lbs.
We warmly invite you to explore the world of GL Motion with us and experience the exceptional driving dynamics our vehicles offer.
